Social Capital and Educational Aspirations Among Urban Youth
A Sociological Study of Community Support Systems and Sustainable Development

This article explores the role of social capital in shaping the educational and career aspirations of youth in urban centers. Utilizing a sociological framework, the study analyzes how networks of relationships—including family, peer groups, and community organizations—act as resources that facilitate or hinder upward mobility. The research highlights the disparity in social capital access between different socio-economic strata and its long-term impact on community development. By examining "bridging" and "bonding" social capital, the findings suggest that community-based interventions are essential for fostering a resilient educational ecosystem. This contribution to the Journal of Education, Society & Development provides critical insights into the social drivers of academic success in modern urban environments.
