Inaugural Issue: Textuality, Identity, and the Cultural Turn

The Editorial Board is proud to present the debut issue of the Journal of Literary & Cultural Studies (JLCS). While language is the medium of our study, JLCS distinguishes itself by focusing on narrative, aesthetics, and representation. This journal serves as a critical forum for the intersection of classical literary analysis and contemporary cultural theory.

In this volume, we move beyond the mechanics of speech to explore how stories—whether in books, film, or digital spaces—shape the human experience.

Key Differences in this Issue:

  • Literary Analysis: Focus on narrative structure and "the self."

  • Visual Culture: Exploring the "gaze" and cinematic memory.

  • Cultural Theory: Analyzing power through the lens of post-colonialism and identity.
