Vol. 1 No. 1 (2026): Inaugural Issue: Foundations of Resilience – Adapting to a Changing Climate

The Editorial Board is proud to launch the first issue of the Canadian Journal of Climate Resilience & Sustainability (CJCRS). As the effects of climate change transition from theoretical projections to lived realities, the need for localized, evidence-based adaptation strategies has reached a critical threshold. CJCRS is dedicated to publishing high-impact research that bridges the gap between environmental science and actionable policy.

In this inaugural volume, "Foundations of Resilience," we explore the multi-faceted nature of sustainability in the 21st century. From the reinforcement of urban infrastructure against extreme weather to the preservation of biodiversity in the Canadian North, our contributors provide a rigorous examination of the challenges and solutions defining our era.

Key Themes in this Issue:

  • Infrastructure Adaptation: Engineering solutions for flood-prone and heat-vulnerable urban centers.

  • Sustainable Economics: The transition to a circular economy and the role of "Green Finance."

  • Biodiversity and Conservation: Protecting fragile ecosystems amidst shifting climatic zones.

  • Indigenous Knowledge: Integrating traditional land stewardship with modern climate science.
